Shelly Burton is an internationally acclaimed energy medicine woman.

After enduring a life-altering concussion, Shelly Burton found her true calling as a facilitator of knowledge and inner-connectivity. Her ability to form bonds and connections with others, and various aspects of nature led her to excel in healing dances, equine care, drumming, and hands-on healing practices. Shelly interprets the world through a comprehensive lens that combines her academic proficiency in both biomedicine, and medical anthropology, along with her deep-rooted understanding of reiki and spiritual healing. In fact, her innovative approach to self-improvement practices has garnered the attention of large media outlets including the BBC World Service, Start-up Here Toronto, and the Huffington Post.

Shelly’s approach is unique in that she serves as a spiritual guide to help her clients overcome negative attachments, whether that be in the form of stress, anxiety, or perhaps a long-held form of regret. Instead of prescribing direct forms of treatment, she builds a unique profile by forming a deep relationship with them, and helping them unlock doors preventing them from transcending their current state. Her own experience in overcoming the debilitating consequences of her prior concussion (which even Canada’s leading concussion expert was unable to directly tackle) helped solidify the effectiveness of her methods, along with numerous praises from her clients.

One of Shelly’s key practices follows the system of “Samhara” – a system of Energy Medicine that helps restore balance and tranquility in the mind and body. It uses rhythmical modalities including hands on energy healing, sound therapy, transmissions of wisdom, facilitated equine learning, and an ancient healing dance. As a society, we tend to grow up living in our heads, and consequentially, our bodies become an after-thought, a material transport for our minds. Samhara was made specifically to circumvent this sort of mind-set and evolve the mind and body in unison. By helping modify the patterns of cellular vibration, Shelly helps create harmony by syncing natural rhythms, and eliminating anomalies that serve as negative precursors to denigrate our mental, emotional and physical health. It helps identify and form a unique blueprint.

Shelly boasts an MPhil in Medical Anthropology from Oxford University, and a B.Sc in Biomedical Science from the University of Guelph. Additionally, her academic prowess is balanced by her training in Usui Reiki, Tera-Mai Reiki, Shamanism, and Luminous Leader training in Grandmother Lineage. Her understanding of human communication, development, reconciliation, and social behaviour are rooted in a well-crafted fusion of science and higher understanding.

Shelly is also a member of the Canadian Reiki Association and a licensed Holistic Practitioner with the City of Toronto.
